She doesnt. Every person in the military I have spoken to hates the hurt locker for how inaccurate it is. Same with black hawk down. The two soldiers who set up a perimeter around the hawk only did it BC they were told specifically that reinforcements would be at their position in a matter of minutes. When there never was a plan to send reinforcements in the first place.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I thought the description of the helo crash in No Easy Day was very dramatic. It was actually the most dramatic part of that raid IMO. He was so convinced they were gonna die when they were going down, it made the rest of the raid seem relatively safe.

I agree with your assessment- with one nitpicky comment. As far as pace, I thought the chopper flight to the compound was a little slow. A great movie.

Frickin' A! Finally saw it last night, and it lived up to its reputation. Superb movie! Probably movie of the year, along with The Master. Question for movie buffs: Was scripting/filming in the works for this movie before Bin Laden was killed? It seems like the raid could've easily been added on after it happened. It's just incredible to think that this entire movie could've been written and filmed in only a year and a half. Fantastic!

Final Verdict: Zero Dark Thirty is the best film of 2012. It features an incredible performance by Jessica Chastain and brilliant writing and directing from Mark Boal and Kathryn Bigelow respectively; a technical triumph. Grade: A+
The Master and Silver Lining Playbook are both better movies. I've already given my review of Zero Dark Thirty in a previous thread so I'm not going to give it again here.

How do the liberals deal with the torture scenes in the movie?

Just got back from seeing it and it was excellent. Jessica Chastain was great but Bigelow did a fantastic directing job. Can't believe she got snubbed by the Academy. And just like The Hobbit, I felt like the 2h30+ running time just flew by, great pacing. Highly recommended.

Yeah I would have liked to see more of him too. I thought a lot of the supporting actors did very well despite Chastain being on screen almost every second prior to the raid.

Thought it was "good" but not "great". First two-thirds of the movie sort of drag. I expected to see footage of the seal team training for the raid, and there is none (I've been advised to rent Seal Team Six for that). I saw two movies this week - Zero Dark Thirty and Django. From a production standpoint, Zero Dark Thirty is better, but I was vastly more entertained by Django. If you have to pick one, see Django.

Yep. I didn't even care about how stupid the actual EOD scenes were, I knew it wouldn't be accurate. The fricking sniper scene ruined it though. Dude got in a 12 hour "sniper battle", and didn't even call it in. What te frick is that? There are literally dozens of things you can do in that situation that make more sense than that.

They were actually working on the film before Bin Laden was killed. The movie was going to focus more on the hunt for him. When Bin Laden was killed, they revised the script and, clearly, the ending. As far as some folks thinking the beginning of the movie drags, there are others who actually praise the CIA sleuthing portion of the movie more than the final assault (seen as some as anti-climactic). People who think this is a pure action movie are going to be disappointed, imo. Finally, I'm always amused at the criticism of The Hurt Locker as not being completely realistic from a technical point of view. After all, it is a movie made for entertainment and not a documentary. There is no way, for example, that a movie audience would watch two hours of guys working on a single bomb. As long as the essence of the story and experience is conveyed, it serves its purpose.
