Kentucky Bourbon Barrell Ale

Anybody ever had it? A couple of people I know just found out about it and claim the shite is amazing. Kind of expensive though and hard to find.

quote:

Award winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale is aged for up to 6 weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after dinner drink.

Bet it has nothing on the apple pie moonshine I had for christmas.. I received 2 jars for my present.. Love my family

But since I'm a whiskey fan, especially Bourbon, I'm curious as well.

Is this a brand, or are you talking about bourbon from the barrel.

I've been on the bourbon trail, I've never heard of it. Albeit, the trail does not hit every bourbon.

Lazy Magnolia has a brew like this. Its called Southern Gentleman. They age it in old bourbon barrels and its absolutely awesome. Had it about a year ago at the shed in ocean springs, but haven't been able to find it since.

It's pretty good. Of course you can find it in spades up here. Good stuff. Not something I drink on the regular though.

It's good, just not really worth the price to drink regularly.

This is the wrong board to ask that question, but I've had it. It's pretty good. Has a distinct oak barrel taste that makes it worth buying at least once just to try. It didn't knock anyone's socks off when we sampled it, but it is a unique beer and definitely worth trying.

Why are you people talking about apple pie moonshine? And why am I still drunk?

2 good questions...I will ponder this for awhile over peach shine and a biscuit.

re: Kentucky Bourbon Barrell Ale
I recall drinking moonshine last night on top of the whiskey and beer. No beer as good as the bourbon ale though.
