Kick off returns question (Posted on 1/11/13 at 12:33 pm)
I remember Roby being a key cog on kickoff returns getting great returns. I am not sure if he is still able but it sure as hell seems he was better than anything we have had lately. Just curious why he hasnt been part of the returns. Anybody have a good reason?

Part of the reason that you probably remember Roby doing better on returns is simply because that was before the rule change moving kickoffs up. There are simply less returnable kickoffs now.

Roby in NOLA- 94 returns at 25.6 yd avg is pretty pedestrian, 1 TD returning in 7 yr career
He's an all pro type gunner is how he has stuck. I would love to see a similar player that was actually viable as a backup WR. His 2 catches in 5 yrs shows that isn't gonna happen here. He played for league minimum in 2012. As vets get more years that becomes more difficult. His minimum goes up to $840K this year- damn spendy for a gunner only player.
You can see the raw skills that Cadet has. He is so raw he just needs refining. I think he can develop as a returner and possible replacement for Sproles (30 next yr) in the future.
