Alabama has been extremely lucky in their run...
They beat Texas after Colt McCoy went down in '09....
They were voted in for a rematch after we beat them in their own stadium in 2011...
And they were lucky enough not to have to face Florida or South Carolina last year...they lost to A&M on their own field.
The problem has always been that the BCS blows
Things will get a little more reasonable in 2014 with a 4 team playoff. That way Saban can't just scout a team for a one game championship...they'll actually have to play their way to a championship

So I need a psychologist to tell me our offense and coaches responsible for it are a laughing stock nation wide. I most be in need of some serious help.
Guess I should look at it in the moral victory way and say at least our offense isnt ranked above 100 and there are 40 teams with an offense unit in the country worse than ours. 
Or better yet just look back and...

Surely you can't be serious. Sure, things have to bounce your way sometimes, but winning 3 out of the last 4 NCs isn't luck.
However, you might be able to say that "luck" was being able to sneak into the NC game with 2 losses. Remember that team?

this is just laughable. BAMA has all the stars aligned to win next year as well. If that happens will all the pumpers say that's look too, or it's not reasonable to want to win a NC every year?
Seriouly, how in the hell can 3 NC in 4 years be lucky? Why do so many think that we have to accept not being first?
Football has evolved...it's no longer a nice diversion from the workweek when your wife met you at the door with a martini wearing an apron. Its a freaking arms race backed by lots of money and millions of fans. If you are ok with the bully taking your lunch money, then you might as well just stay home.

Didn't Saban refer to it as the "catastrophe syndrome"? It was likely one of the things that hastened his departure from LSU.
Personally, I think this board is filled by "fans" who would rather see the program fail, just so they can be "right", rather than have the program succeed.

i'll give them 2009. although if mccoy doesn't get knocked from the game who knows. but they did that so 2009 was all them.
the other 2 yrs, they needed help from other teams just like LSU got but they also got media/voter help.
in '12 they were barely dropped after losing at home late in the season.
we all know what happened in '11. if LSU lost in t town they'd say "we don't need to see a rematch, we've seen this game before" instead they got a mulligan. there wasn't even a debate, there was just two words "eyeball test". two words that wouldn't have existed if LSU lost on nov 5th.
but all the credit to bama for making the most of their luck. that, they can't be faulted for. but i'd be a better poker player too if my hole cards were always awesome.
