I hope he finds his way back to Tuscaloosa and is able to coach for the Tide one day.

Deshea played corner for Bama from 1993-1997. Then was drafted by Pittsburg. I know he was playing with Pittsburg when they played Seattle in the superbowl back in 2005. I remember being torn between wanting Deshea to get a ring or Shaun Alexander. I'm friends with both.

You're right....I only think that because he was in the league for a while, won 2 superbowls so he did something right. Hopefully he can translate his experience into coaching. So going by that alone and the fact that he played for Bama again I'll say solid hire!!!

South Panola was legit back when I was going to Ole Miss. It's pretty amazing that all those studs come out of Batesville. This hire will for sure help State because all those guys use to go to Ole Miss.
