Recruiting limitations of 25 (Posted on 1/10/13 at 9:08 am)
they don't take into consideration losing 10 juniors early to draft plus the seniors that have to leave. Anything thoughts about this. We recruit well so this is not a huge issue for us but there is no way the NCAA ever considered this when limiting annual scholarships.

It kind of does if you consider that you can only have a total of 85 scholarship players on a team at a time, but you get to take up to 25 recruits per recruiting class.

No it doesn't.
For example.
Say LSU has 20 seniors in the 85, and 11 underclassman declare for the draft. So you are down to 54 (85-31) but can only take 25. You can early enroll, but let's assume that the year before you took 23 so you can only back count 2. Means you can only take 27 this year so you have 4 empty scholarships (54+27=81).
Maybe we can "Saban" our way around this by having players "walk on" and then get scholarship???
Granted, this was a unique year and probably not going to be the norm, but when it does happen you lose out on filling those spots. Any thoughts?

Why worry about it?
LSU should just do like bama and get a Dr. to say that medically their career is over. Just cull them like bama does. Im sure they give them a nice parting gift

So you are talking about cutting guys? I'm talking about not being able to add guys. Are you in the right thread?
