We laugh about it, because it's something we like, but if something like this could have been slipped into the monstrosity of Obamacare how many horrible things could have been slipped in?

It is also why I get tired of seeing posts about "Rep X voted AGAINST the 'Be Nice To Children and Old Ladies Bill!'...how dare hw be against that!!!!??"
It drives me nuts that you can name a bill anything, have it be mainly for something else, and THEN have little bits and pieces that are totally unrelated

I have no problem with this.
Maybe not totally relevant to this tread, but I do have problem with legislation that makes it illegal for doctors to ask, discuss and consult patients regarding guns in their homes, gun safety, etc like the bill that was passed in Florida not too long ago. I believe an injunction has been put in place banning Fla from enforcing the law, however (thank goodness).

The previous law was being abused. My wife had a minor stroke in 2009. Due to her heart condition her Doctor wanted to keep her in the Hospital for 2 days. My wife was interviewed by a Doctor who asked her about guns in the house. The result was we both had to be interviewed by a social worker.
The social worker didn't know a .22 from a 45-70. No, I didn't feel my wife's stroke would lead her to shoot me. I'm still alive....
