Awesome. It would be good to know you could make your own. Kind of like moonshine and prohibition.

This is the most American thing I've read in quite some time.

I would think that they could dip the printed receiver in a resin to strengthen it. Very cool though and will definitely shake things up.

Could incorporate an light-activated crosslinker into the polymer and take the part and crosslink all of the polymer chains by UV exposure after printing....

The point of this is to make an easily printable weapon. If they have to do a litany of post-production modifications it takes away the point of the project.

All you'd have to do is shine a UV lamp (inexpensive) on the part for two or three minutes. It's quite convenient.

3D printing is going to bring about a "crisis" of "piracy" in the future. I put crisis and piracy in quotes because I don't think it's a negative thing, but it will certainly be portrayed that way.
At least one torrent site already has a dedicated section called "physibles" for these files. Will be interesting for sure.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but can you print viable bullets?

It's not printable but you can buy a 95% complete AR receiver and finish it yourself with a drill press. It can be shipped right to your home, you finish, you assemble yourself. No registration, no forms to fill out because legally it is just a hunk of useless metal, not a firearm. There are also AK flats that you can finish yourself by banging them out.

Probably not. But reloading is an easy and common hobby of many people. The materials for it are readily available and pretty cheap.

Listening to Cody Wilson's interview on AVTM and a couple of interesting nuggets: 1. Expects to get a Federal Firearms License by the end of January. 2. Once they get all of the licensing they can begin testing the prototype (Fully printable gun) 3. About to meet investors in Europe.

4. Says in two weeks they will have liberals foaming at the mouth over what they can do with magazines.

I'm in the market for a 3d printer.. I've allocated 5-10 grand for this purchase and was wondering if anyone knows a good place to gain some knowledge and reviews of those currently available or soon to be, with full specs and capabilities. Glad you updated this because Ive missed it popping up previously and look forward to checking out the videos.
