| Is Usher officially a pop artist now? (Posted on 1/7/13 at 1:18 pm)
Lately his songs have been more pop/dance type songs so is he starting to make the transition to pop artist?

Usher at all points in his career has been the definition of a pop artist. I think that you don't know what pop artist means. I'll give you a hint. Pop is short for popular. examples: The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin. (at the time); Britney Spears, all boy bands, Lil Wayne, Eminem, etc. It is whatever is pushed for general consumption. If you hear it on the radio then it is probably pop.

I guess he may have started out as an R&B artist back in the confession days but hes been making radio friendly songs ever since "Yeah" became so huge which was in 2004 btw there will always be a special place in my music heart for "Yeah". Still love that song

from what i what understand, he made some pretty good R&B in the beginning of his career, and has since moved into pop garbage. he's a relatively talented guy
