President Obama to Boehner, "We don't have a spending problem..."

And apparently, the President is tired of being told that we spend too much. The deficit is related to out of control health care spending and the President has fixed that with Obamacare.

Apparently a couple of tweaks on the revenue side and everything is going to be hunky-dory. Thoughts?

No spending problem here

We just need more money. The rich aren't paying their fair share.

Just curious, does anyone on this board think that we do not have a spending problem?

As stated in the Snopes thread, the only way this BS passes muster is the MSM carrying stories with validity equal to "Batboy eats babies". We don't have a spending problem?

Good God Almighty!!!

the 1st step to getting help is admitting you have a problem.....

Stupid GDP is no big enough for Washington to get enough "revenue"

We ought to tax the GDP more to create more GDP....

I guarantee you that the liberals on this board will take this stance if the democratic leadership does. (I don't think it will. I think instead, it will just ignore the issue and never address it without deflection).

Has Obama ever had a regular salary from some job, community organizing or whatever, within the means of which he had to live?

I ask seriously, because from what I have seen, his basic living provisions, housing and transportation, have pretty much always been given to him with "special" deals that are not available to the average American.

The point being, if you never really have to worry about a great home to live in and how to get around, you really don't ever care much about spending within your means.

The story gains credibility by President Obama's actions. No balanced approach, 41:1 ratio of tax increases to spending cuts, and his subsequent statements that we need to do more on the revenue side since the "fiscal cliff" was averted (allegedly).

True. And anyway, actions speak louder than words, so we will just have to wait to see what spending cuts Obama proposes.

Oh wait...

It's not like the media will press the question, so it comes down to he-said/he-didn't-say.

Considering that the President has pushed so hard for tax hikes and has not pushe for spending cuts, is also pushing for the debt ceiling increase while not pushing for spending cuts... I find it easier to believe than to discredit (actions speak louder than words).

Obama is not trying to pull some trick. He honestly believes that we do not have a spending problem. He reads this guy:

Jesus. Don't worry about the gaping hole in the vessel. Just keep filling it and we will be fine, right?

Sure, can you give me a link to a specific spending cut proposal, totaling more than $500B, pushed by Boehnersince the election? I mean specific, and I mean cuts, not reduce in the rate of growth.

I haven't seen spending cuts proposed by either side.

Spending cuts specifically proposed by either side = TV commercials in the next election.
Rand Paul is probably the only guy with the balls to try it.

I have heard that before, but this board is acting like the republicans have a plan. I personally don't see it.

Obviously we don't have a spending problem. We just need more money to finance our lifestyle.

You know, like the people who need an iPhone but don't have enough federal dollars to buy one. Just need more money, that's all.

I would love to see video of Barry saying that. That's right up there with "you didn't build that"
