Obama did not win a single state with a voter ID law.

Pretty silly of you to regurgitate that tired excuse about buying votes considering you voted for Obama in 08.
Heck Vegas, I've explained my truly "silly" vote for Obama in '08 many times. I even apologized in a public letter to my local newspaper. For me, it was about health care; I realized Obama's potential, took a shot in the dark re Wright/Ayers/et al, and figured that Obama would at least do the right thing re healthcare. Never imagined he'd use it to "fundamentally change the nation". A lot of defining water has run under the bridge since then. And if you deny or can't see that the reason that Obama's electorate votes Dem/Socialist for what they get from Government, is "silly" then a meaningful dialogue is impossible. Unions (private and public), single mothers, illegal immigrants, Blacks (ADHD youth 'disability'), and Corporate (Green and Wall St.) government cronyists...all BOUGHT with Treasury money...were enough to tip the scale. Throw in Hollywood, MSM Media and College Socialist Ideologues, misguided Greens, old line Democrats and a sprinkling of well-intentioned but naive fools like I was...and the national election of Statists is a fait accompli. That is why I predict a rebellion against the expansion of Federal Government power will come in the form of LOCAL entities telling the Fed to shove it. Marijuana laws just the tip of the spear. 51% won't really matter, when it comes to real governing by the POTUS; though the bully pulpit most certainly can affect (unite or divide) a wildly divergent and antipathetic populous. Obama has divided. His tactis will only speed up the dynamic of the rejection of Fed Power. Just takes a whole for the realization to hit home in the street. I know one thing for sure...I'd hate to be a Muslim Brotherhood construction company waiting on a USA check to start building their mosques over there in Egypt. Much less a MB pilot, waiting for delivery of those F-16s. Things are fixing to really..."fundamentally change".

No one should have been surprised, I wasn't. Fact: there are more Dem registered voters nationwide. Therefore, unless Pubs get most Independents, they don't have much of a chance of winning the Presidency with Dems controlling all minorities and the minority percentage of the population increasing rapidly. The only way the Pubs will win the Presidency again is for the Dems to have a really weak candidate and for the Pubs to have a really strong candidate. Romney is infinitely more qualified to manage the U.S. economy compared to Obama but our electorate simply didn't give a shite and it's too late now that the shite has hit the fan.

That map is below. States in green — more of a mint, actually — have strict photo ID laws on the books while those in yellow have less strict photo ID requirements. States in blue have non-photo voter ID laws while those in gray have no voter ID law on the books. You can read more about the various voter ID laws on NCSL’s website or check out this exhaustive explainer by the good folks at ProPublica. There was last minute hearings in PA. Were voter ID laws all adhered to this past 2012 election? NC- The voter ID laws will be quickly reimplemented again as we no longer have a democratic witch governor.

Why did Romney fail to get as many popular votes as McCain got in '08?
easy answer. He didn't. and, you are an idiot.
quote:
Romney - 60,931,959 McCain - 59,948,323
This is a myth that has been perpetuated many, many times. Romney had less votes than McCain, only on election day. Once the actual votes began to be counted, the total above rolled in. In addition, Obama had less than 5 million less votes than 2008. I tried to tell some moron this days after the election. McCain had 4 years to make sure every vote counted, and people were criticizing Romney 4 hours after the polls closed for not having more votes.

Glad someone pointed this out. THE FEC's numbers are just slightly different than yours (they show McCain had 59,934,814 and Romney got 60,861,683)but the differences are negligible. The point is that several posters in this thread had already repeated the misstatement that McCain got more votes than did Romney, which just proves your point that incorrect information is heard then passed along without question far too often. And to the early poster who said Obama got 10 million fewer votes this time than in 2008, you really missed the boat on that one ! 2008 Obama (FEC certified count): 69,456,897 2012 Obama (FEC certified count): 65,600,425 That's about 3.9 M fewer votes - a far cry from 10M.

man take off your tin foil hat with this myth stuff. Everyone knew it was incomplete results. We also thought Romney got 48%. That too was a "myth". Turns out he was a 47 percenter.
