| Will gun theft take the place of drugs in America? (Posted on 1/7/13 at 11:55 am)
With the rising cost of guns, ammo, and clips simply as a result of the legislation potentially going into effect, much less it actually passing cause guns to be at such a value that the black market demands for such weaponry, ammo, and clips overshadow the money to be made in illegal drugs? And, as we saw recently in painting targets on citizens who are made to register their guns, will home burglaries for the sole purpose of stealing guns go up dramatically in your opinion if Americans are made to register all of their weapons in a national data base for government to track weapons?

I think its best to see what happens regarding legislation before hypothesizing so much. I bet any changes are minor, and on the edges. And I don't believe there are many home invasions to steal drugs. And what sort of idiot will raid a home to steal guns, when you know the owner is armed? That just seems fricking stupid, although much of america is fricking stupid.

Of course not, but instead of drugs being the big ticket item, the question is whether guns will become more lucrative for those who already capitalize and make their living in the black market.

During the day when people are at work?

Black market guns are already a really big market. Do you think criminals just walk into a bass pro shop and buy a bushmaster?

i guess so, but how would you know they have guns to go in and steal them? And how do you know they won't be home? I can see it being a more lucrative crime than it was before, but is this a real big problem now? I don't think it is. And its not like guns are particularly cheap today.

That's the systematic process of getting rid of guns from law abiding citizens. Let the criminals do the work for you.
