A few years back I showed up at a TriMet station in Portland to go to work and some poor bastard had just gotten crushed. It happened about a minute before I got there. No first responders were there yet just people freaking. It was gruesome.

The train operator will slam on the brakes, that'll be a hell of a bump, but that's about it.
Of course, the first thing they do is evacuate the train and shut down the entire station, which is about as big a disruption as you can get. I was at Rosslyn in 2012 when a jumper did his thing (I didn't see it, fortunately) and decided to just walk 20 minutes to the next station.
