Nor have I. But I have gotten the crazy right email chain that I usually send an email to everyone on the list debunking the claim.
That has stopped people from including me on these chains when you basically email everyone they sent it to showing how they were fooled...

I am politically active in a Northeastern city that likely voted 95% for Obama and I see more crap from one or two friends who are conservative (yes, I do have conservative friends who don't pull this nonsense) than I do from everyone else combined.

Didn't really have facebook until 2009. During the Bush years I remember thinking that the upcoming War in Iraq was BS, and I opposed both sides on that one. The propaganda from the admin just seemed too obvious for me.
But I do remember the Swift Boat attacks on Kerry in 2004 that were pretty disgraceful. And a lot of the facebook and e-mail chain nonsense was carried out on message boards back then. Pre 2004 the Republicans would attack using only slightly harder than normal tactics it seemed, but the D's were just pathetic in responding to them. Clinton was the exception, but he came up with his own machine to respond.
