| Taxpayer Relief Act??????? (Posted on 1/7/13 at 9:33 am)
What a steaming pile of shite........just received an e-mail from my CFO stating that FICA taxes would be jumping from 4.3 to 6.2%. How in the hell is that tax payer relief? Seems like it's just the opposite. I guess it's relief for those with their hands out........

I can't stand how they are allowed to title a bill things like "Taxpayer Relieve Act" or "Affordable Care Act". They should just have a number attached.

Did your CFO send out an email when the payroll tax holiday started?

Not exactly what you're referring to......I knew things were going up, but didn't know the exact number. Too bad they can't get spending under control in other areas so social security wouldn't be an issue. The government is nothing more than a bunch of greedy, selfish bastards who are out to confiscate resources from those that work for a living and give to those to lazy to lift a finger to help themselves. Not to mention the shite ton of money they waste.

Don't worry it's not an increase. As many may have indicated already.

How does anyone hold a job and not know that the 2% was going to go up regardless of any event outside of the tax holiday being extended? Were you watching Jersey Shore or Honey Boo Boo instead of picking up a paper for the last couple of years? Has nothing to do with anything done in the fiscal cliff. BOTH Rs and Ds did not want to extend the tax cut that wasnt that old and was temporary. You have paid 6.2% for years assuming that didnt just start working in the last 2 years. Now you are paying it again.

I'm trying to grasp why some of you are fine with the rate going up 2%. Many people, R's and D's, have said that you should be happy for the 2 year tax break you got. Have you not forgotten that this money being taxed is YOUR MONEY? Why would you ever be complacent with more taxing? I work for my money. The government does not. The government has proven it can not and will not manage tax dollars responsibly. So if i get a "tax break" from the thieves, it is akin to a thief stealing your wallet and deciding to steal the $20 bill, not the other $10 bill. It is YOUR MONEY. The government has not earned, nor deserves YOUR MONEY. So when a tax break comes along, and then is eliminated the government is saying, "hey, we want your money." Then they say, "you know what, just give me what's in your wallet", then coming back after a year and saying, "on second thought, give me your bank account number too. Why? Because i'm the government and i am entitled to it". Too many conservatives are looking at this "tax break expiration" as an "oh well" scenario when they should be outraged. Complacency to give the government more of your hard earned money to give more of it to those that have not earned it, is what leads to the shite we are in.

Because I dont believe things that are passed temporary should become a way of life. That mentality is the very reason we have Income Taxes today. It breeds people to become complacent. I would feel much different about this if it were a 2% tax cut and not a 2% TEMPORARY TAX HOLIDAY 2 years ago. I also feel that the unemployment extensions that were temporary need to end and the toll on on the CCC in NOLA needs to end as it was "temporary" as well. Why do you think the Government is as big as it is and as wasteful? If cant fricking keep up with all the temporary bills and just kick the can further down the road so as to not piss off anyone.

Agreed this temporary shite should stop.....why wasn't it put to a halt last year prior to the elections?

How does one not know that a 2% tax holiday expiring would result in a TWO percent increase? Your job must not involve math.
