No one thinks he doesn't have the training, he just isn't board certified. He apparently is certified by a group he founded that no one actually recognizes. LINK

Actually that's exactly what VOR claimed and he was expectedly wrong.

He was certified and chose not to renew under the ABO. Any other falsehoods?

Nothing he said was false. Paul is not certified by the ABO and created his own board and is certified by it. And Slo, there's no difference in the stands Republicans take really. I mean minor things but practically speaking, no. (and the same thing holds for Dems). So nothing disqualifies him IMO except that he has the charisma of cardboard and comes off as a jerk when you rattle him. But considering how every Rep nominee since Nixon was a loser in a prior race, (besides Ford and W, both extenuating circumstances) chances are the next nominee will be a past loser. Nixon, lost in 60 Reagan lost in 76 Bush lost in 80 Dole lost in 88 McCain lost in 00 Romney lost in 08 You have to pay your dues to the establishment inthe GOP before you can get the nomination. ETA: compare the Dem nominees: Humphrey first time running McGovern first time running Carter first time running Mondale first time running Dukakis first time running Clinton first time running Gore loser in 08 Kerry first time running Obama first time running. The GOP is awfully conservative when it comes to nominating new guys.

Pass on the almost entirely Libertarian candidate... Jizz your pants to the faux Libertarian candidate...

You don't think that there's much of a difference between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney?

Ron Paul really isn't a Republican. Also looking back at past losers and if the GOP does what it usually does, these are the most likely nominees: Kasich, loser in 00 Pawlenty, loser in 12 Perry, loser in 12 Rudy, loser in 08

I'm not a huge Rand fan, but I'd take him over any of these by a mile

Agreed. Someone like Ron Paul isn't going to be elected president anytime soon. Rand would be the first presidential nominee that I would show up and vote for. He's not Ron, but he's definitely not Mitt either.

In other news, Rand's 19y/o son was intoxicated and making a nuisance of himself at the Charlotte airport this am. He was arrested. Charges include underage drinking and public disturbance. Maybe too much celebration over his dad's announcement?

Not surprisingly, you're full of shite. It was precisely the Kentucky board certification that I was referring to. And there were honest questions about the legitimacy of his certification.

He went to Duke Med school (which you questioned re: your above post). Has a Kentucky medical license. Was certified under ABO for 10 years before declining to renew his certification under them in protest. Clown

First of all, slick, I was unaware of any question about his medical license. I just saw a couple of references to it last night on the net and asked about it here. Big deal. Everything is not an agenda, cupcake.

there is a huge difference in RINOs like Bush and Tea Party Libertarians. that's the whole reason for the tea party movement the tea party isn't playing nice either, which is hurting the GOPs ability to make shitty deals with DEMs

The main difference is one would compromise and the other wouldn't. So in effect Rand Paul wouldnt get a damn thing done.
