Right, but if you guys would quit feeding them corn, they would move on to greener pastures once they ate all the acorns.

Good point on the corn. Traps and snares have worked well for us with our 1000 acre plot but above all you have to watch your cameras and attack (traps, AR with night vision) when they are active as they move so much.

I put this video in the other hog trap thread: LINK It is pretty cool how they take out the whole sounder at one time (Even if they had to introduce big momma to a weatherby).

We are trying to come up with a tactical solution and we may be able to use another gun, or two. Maybe we can keep in touch and you can reap some pork.

We used to hunt em all night during the summers in South MS...q-beams, 4 wheelers, still hunt em, killed over 300 hogs one summer off a 250 acre tract. Trapped and killed probably at least that many. I do not believe there is a way to eradicate the entire population once they have moved in. But they are the most tasty target shooting I have ever done!

We had this problem on about 3000 acres and we used dogs and caught about 5 in 30 min and killed another one and all were around 200+ lbs and after that we didnt see another hog for five years and they slowly came back and i believe this past off season we used traps and caught about 30 and killed some others during the season...its hard to put a dent in them...especially when they breed 3xs a year

So in my experience... Someone suggested tannenite, don't waste your time won't kill them when they are close, dynamite (the real stuff) will, however will also have the law looking for you... (Don't ask) Trapping them and hunting them at night when WELL patterned is the only way to go. You MUST stop feeding corn, if you can get that done on your whole lease they may move away. The only time I feed corn now is when I want to kill hogs. Once deer season is over and people back out of the woods they become much more relaxed and will move in the daytime and can be very pattern able to kill. Once everyone quits putting corn out after deer season they become very easy to bait. Just remember they are the smartest animal in the woods, so whatever works won't work for long until you change it up on them. We managed to kill about 40 off our lease last year and that helped a bunch we still have them but nothing like they were. Good luck

Same here. I'd bring the beer and ammo. We need a OBGT at someone's lease where they have a severe hog problem

A small sow is pretty good eating. The boars are best left to become organic matter.

If y'all were in FL you could slay em all you want at my place.. I hate the fuggers.. They did seem to stay out of our plots this year for some reason, but recent years they have been hell..
