What is this utopia you have fabricated in you mind?

I know from a bunch of RonPaul Bots that RPaul thinks 911 was an inside job and does not even think we should have fought Hitler.

So you assume Pauls foreign policy is nutty just because some people who support him are nuts? I wouldn't get near that slope if I were you.

quote:

Rand Paul is not this nutty.

Neither is Ron

As far as fighting Hitler, we needed to be attacked by Japan to directly enter the war. It wasn't popular in America.

Germany declared war on the US before we did

There are those who assert that the United States was trying to get the Germans to attack American ships, so that we had a casus belli. The Germans neglected to act aggressively towards us, if this is to be believed.

Many economic directives and policies taken by the Roosevelt administration practically forced the Japanese to engage in conflict, if they were to continue their imperial system and conquest.

This thread just cracked me up to no end.

I'm not really a Paul guy anymore, I'm not sure. At least it might be a step in the right direction.

I'm sure most of you conservatives that are saying you'll bend over backwards to get Paul in office were nowhere to be found during his fathers career. Now that you've slightly woken up you're all for it... funny stuff.

I have heard Rand speak and he is brilliant.

How long have you been so superior to everyone politically?

Rand Paul is not this nutty.

Is that what you call damning with faint praise?

What does that have to do with what I said.

Rand is a very fine speaker, and a smart guy.

He's a hell of a lot like his father, and people that want to say his dad is a 'nut' are just programmed robots. Look at speeches from Ron bak in the 80s, in his prime.. people just were too asleep to notice. And about 911, you can bet your bottom dollar that Rand feels the same way as his father but would not say it, it's political suicide.

Now that shite is getting 'real' and hitting the fan now people want to listen to someone that actually wants to do something about big government.

Whew! Sorry for the emoticons. But no better way to express the Democrats reaction if he ran. He'd have as much a chance as 999.

Marcus Bachman has a better chance of being selected the sexiest man alive.

Newt Gingrich stands a better chance of being selected Miss Congenialty in the Miss USA pageant.

Santorum will march in the SF gay pride parade in leather and chaps with an exposed arse before Rand Paul becomes president.

Really?

Sorry I find it hilarious that the same people who could have cared less about Ron Paul are willing to go to the ends of the earth to elect Rand. They share so much of the same core beliefs, I just find this all kind of hilarious.

Jon Voight and Alan West would win before Paul!
I can see it now, campaigning in the John Voight car from Seinfeld

I am curious, Vegas, as to what makes you so confident of a Democratic win in 2016 if Paul is the nominee.

Is it his comments regarding the Civil Rights Act?

He has zero charisma and when confronted he gets defensive and comes off as a jerk. He definitely didn't inherit his dad's best qualities. Rachel Maddow owned him in that interview. His dad is far better at handling attacks.

Let's face it, likeability is key in winning national races. Rand Paul has none of that.

Look at the last four two term presidents. Reagan, Clinton, W and Obama. All had vicious personal attacks against them and all just laughed them off and the accusers came off looking like a-holes.

In the end, people want to like their leaders. You can dismiss this factor as being an issue that shouldn't be, but it is.

Frankly I see Hillary having this problem. But Rand, no way that man will ever be elected president.

It is predictable as heat in July that this announcement would cause a virtual fap fest for a substantial portion of the PoliBoard.

I know some of you will probably eat this shite up, but I don't think it's going to appeal to the voters.

He seemed to me to be the most sane and credible guy who could run when it comes to the number one issue in government today, getting control of government spending.

Who else could run as of today, I will admit there could always be a candidate from nowhere. But who has name recognition today, that could run. And don't mention Bush, Jeb could be the best guy on the planet, but his last name blows his chances to hell and back.

Is he a doctor with a legit license and a legit degree? I really don't know. Just read somewhere that he wasn't really a doctor.
