re: Barak - "I believe in people's lawful right to bear arms"

Was Sandy Hook committed by a soldier serving his country? Was Sandy Hook committed by a sane rational person? Yes deaths will occur as time goes by, the manner in which if occurs is really and truly insignificant because it is the only true promise that humans have in life, YOU ARE GOING TO DIE. Principles are an outgrowth of the rights of humans whan you look at them from the first author on the idea that no single person was Lord and Master of anyone else. A book that you need to read is Samuel Rutherfords' "Lex Rex". That tome was what led other latter day philosophers to produce thier own works on the rights of man.

The constitution guaranteed protection of rights not guaranteed safety and I'll take that any day

re: Barak - "I believe in people's lawful right to bear arms"
This whole national gun dialoge is so disingenuous. The majority of those who 'cling to their guns' have been polled, and the REAL issue has nothing to do with public or personal safety. It's about NO TRUST in Leftist government's ultimate intent to totally run the show, throw out the Constitution and impose tyrannical rule on the populous. The Second Amendment was DESIGNED as the fail safe to put power in the hands of individuals in order to REVOLT against a tyrannical government if the need arises.

Even if the Leftists pass Laws with their mob rule majority, local States will do just what some States now do re the Federal Marijuana Laws...piss on em.

Screw Obama. We all know the gig. Talk, lies, mind games to sway the useful idiot public. By now, it ought to be pretty clear to most free thinkers that it WON'T be electoral mechanisms that will shape the future. It will be the effects of paralysis of economic and political systems, and the back to the basics/ground up/Local powers therein.

Gee whiz!

So you're saying the oath I took five months ago to defend it is flawed and inept?

I'm no fan of pot but the timing of this is perfect with guns coming up, so you won't find me getting in the way of it. Several states have already passed intrastate firearms laws that nullify federal gun laws when a gun is made and sold entirely and only within a state. Montana's even states that a federal agent can be prosecuted for attempting to enforce federal gun laws in a purely intrastate gun situation.

If Obama continues this path there will be mass civil disobedience. Every gun owner will be Rosa Parks, and they should follow her example and fight to preserve their civil rights.

You talk about principle.... you are obviously liberal minded so tell me about these principles you believe in when y'all support things such as abortion? Abortion kills way more children then these mass shootings. What is the principle in that?

Oh buy you liberals say its all Pro Choice, or a person's right to choose. Well in that case, I have a right to choose to defend myself and protect my property with a gun.

You people are nothing but hypocrites with an agenda, you don't really care about any person. You tout these morals only when it fits your cause.

So, in your opinion, are the lives of the 20 kids and 6 adults in the Sandy Hook deal worth more than the 10's and 100's of thousands of military that gave their life defending the US Constitution and it's amendments? Are you willing to have every American give up his/her rights becaue 26 people lost their lives compared to the hundreds of thousands that gave up theirs making sure we keep our rights?

It's a word game. Clinton taught him. He'll later say he didn't lie he meant BARE arms or actual BEAR(growl)arms. The later may ingnite a backlash from PETA but he'll pacify them by outlawing hunting. Thus the only way to obtain bear arms would be to capture and surgically remove them.

Funny that every time I have asked this question here, not one of the people advocating gun control due to these "mass killings" have answered it, not once.

Well I'll answer it for you: Their lives are of equal value. However, one chose to bear arms in the theater of war, and chose to put himself in harm's way WITH an opportunity to defend himself. It is absurd to compare an innocent 5 year old's murder to a grown man's. Does this make the Afghan rebel more evil than Adam Lanza?

As for labeling me a Liberal, I am done regurgitating my principles. Label me what you want. They are solidly based on the bible, a book that makes the Constitution look like a comic strip.

Principles are the foundation for Laws, for rights.

No constitution had to explain to me that it is wrong to steal, cheat, or murder. And even when the CIA or government agency thinks they have a right, or are sanctioned to do it, it is still wrong.

Well there is a lucid, cogent response to the question. What now?
