In other words you can't measure spread as the distance from the tip of a beam to the base of the other beam.

ETA: I had a brain fart. They are talking about outside spread but explaining that it has to be straight across and not at an angle right? This post was edited on 1/6 at 7:56 am

Why does it matter what the greatest spread is when you only use the greatest inside spread when scoring?
