He believed in people's lawful right to bear arms until the political equation changed to a more conducive atmosphere to shove something through.

So rightfully did you double post this comment. He and his friends are going after the Constitution itself to negate it totally, they truly want an America with an emperor for life.

The Constitution is proving itself to be an inept, flawed piece of document. Sorry if this offends your overly-sensitive patriotic senses

Certain American people are flawed and inept and I am sorry that people with your belief exist in this country.

I am assuming that you NEVER HAVE OR WILL EVER serve in the military. The oath is not to the govt. or to a person, it is to the Constitution that you pledge allegiance to, against all ENEMIES foriegn and domestic. You just qouted the lefts mantra about the Constitution with your post.

Is that why the military had more deaths by suicide than by actual combat this past year? The constitution made them do it?

Where did you go bat shite crazy in your mental development? What does your post have anything to do with gun RIGHTS? Rights do not and have never been given by the government, they have been stolen by .gov for many decades. Go give your man a knobjob for the day.

Frustrations due to rules of engagement, as your buddies die, will take it's toll.

Doesn't offend me. What offends me are folks like you who seem to want to ignore it or change it judicially rather than by the method it prescribes. No dice. Sorry if that offends your overly tyrannical sensibilities.

EthanL - The Constitution isn't the problem - it's the answer. People refuse to carry a sense of responsibility with it. It's not the rocketscience you make it out to be.

Hopefully one day you will realize that above laws, above rights, are your principles. Principles are more important than any of these. Hopefully before its too late, you will see the wisdom of standing up for those over any man- made, hand written documents. If not, be prepared for more Sandy Hook incidents in exchange for our 'rights' being protected.

Are you kidding? The Constitution is the document from which the government and all representatives inherit their power. These politicians you liberals seem to have such a hard on for are, by design, meant to be changed regularly. Seeing as "...then LEAVE" is usually reserved to express resistance to a fundamental change, using it the way you have doesn't even make sense. Especially when you consider it is our civic duty to vet, debate and disagree with opposing view points within the bounds of the Constitution.

I wonder how you came to that conclusion seeing as there is a very good chance in neither of our lifetimes has the Constitution been adhered to in any meaningful way. Honestly, after decades of political malcontents and a populace more and more geared to handing over liberties to live responsibility free, bending the rules to the point of complete structural break down would stand as a proof positive: The Constitution was written for a reason, and it was written well. tl;dr idiots.
