Somewhat agree but I enjoyed KH2
Not to mention the series has an amazing soundtrack.

Dude was a fricking boss, even at Lvl 99 he was hard to beat. I wish they'd come out with a conclusion already.

I played a little bit of it but the battle system was a dealbreaker for me. If I'm going to pick up a JRPG I want the standard turn-based style. That's what I grew up with and what I like. Unfortunately that's a dying style, or so it seems.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, I know plenty of people who love it, but it's just not for me.

Not the case at all. These sort of comments aren't even ironic or funny considering how the development teams are in Square. The director of the KH team has been with Square since FFVII as character designer.
He presided over each KH game.

I'm also surprised to see so much love for KH1. Sure, the story was better, but the gameplay was so bad compared to KH2. Fought the camera more than I fought enemies.

If they would release a game right now, with say FFVII or VIII graphics and battle system but with a complete different story, it would be the greatest thing ever.

There's a third that came out for PS2. It's called KH: Chain of Memories or something like that. I wouldn't play it, though. The combat is like a card game. I would just look up what happened story-wise so you're up to date. It kind of explains the whole Org. XIII thing...kinda. The problem most people have is they only play the console versions. Kingdom Hearts is both Playstation and handheld. Chain of Memories was a handheld game first. Then they made a PS2 version. KH3 is going to come out, but it will be after the next Final Fantasy. I'd look for a release in 2014-15.
