| What's the GB's opinion on Kingdom Hearts? (Posted on 1/5/13 at 12:37 pm)
This was my favorite RPG game around the time it came out, I was addicted to the first and second one. Now fast foward some years later and I haven't heard much about it. I don't believe a third edition has came out yet even though the story was not finished. Did this game not garner that much attention from the masses? It was one of the best games I've ever played. Just seeing if I am the only one who enjoyed this game.

Replayed them both about a month ago. Those two and FFX are the only reason i still have my ps2

My SO got it for me for Christmas, she knows I am a big fan. But she didn't realize the PS3 isn't backwards compatible so I have been deciding on if picking up a PS2 is worth it. I never really got into FF, I played FF7. How would you compare KH and FF as far as gameplay itself?

FFVll - FFX are all great. They are all turn based though. So fighting is different, but everything else as far as leveling and crafting is similar. They storys better in those FF though.

I have a hard time believing that the ps3 is not backwards compatible. I understand version 1 was backwards compatible due to the extra chip architecture.
However, with the recent release of several ps2 classics (grand theft autos and some others) I find it hard to believe that the games have been altered a lot to run on the ps3.
In short, Sony is holding back on purpose to make you buy the digital downloads rather than playing the ones you already own b

I liked KH. But the traditional, turn-based battles of FF games is what made it a FF game. When Square-Enix started with the active battles, it really turned me off of the new FF games.
I played Final Fantasy because I liked the random battle, turn-based system. If I wanted to play an action RPG, I would just play Elder Scrolls or Dark Souls..or KH.

In my top 5 games of all-time. I love Kingdom Hearts. The storyline, creativity and gameplay is masterful. I haven't played any of the others outside of 1 and 2 but I've thought about getting the one that just came out for the 3DS. It's supposed to be really good.

They rival FF titles for best games on the PS2.
Ridiculous how good and fun the game is with Mickey at the helm.

They kind of made the decision a while back that people would rather a $100 cheaper machine without the backwards compatibility. Did it cost $100 for the chipset, likely not, but I'd imagine they wanted not to have to deal with issues of games not working for some reason. They were already losing money on each system.
