| Help needed w/ hotels in NYC (Posted on 1/5/13 at 1:26 am)
Can anyone help with a hotel rec for a long weekend in NYC? More specifically, going to Madison Square Garden for a concert in April and trying to get an idea on prices on hotel rooms. I have no idea where to start as Google has been overwhelming with options. Never been to NYC and I would like to stay in Manhattan(close to MSG) but I am up for any suggestions. Looking to accomidate 4 people for around $250 per night. TIA

I was hoping for a rec on a hotel in walking distance or short cab to MSG that might have something different than the usual. I'm looking for any local recs or past expierences in the city. Kayak recommends about 200 possible hotels.

The Distrikt Hotel, stayed. Close to a lot of shite and the subways.

Yes it will, but you're gonna have to do some research to find the best deals. Not gonna find deals if you don't spend some time looking shite up. And saying that's it's overwhelming makes you sound like a chick

There's a Hyatt adjacent to Grand Central Terminal. It was nice enough and very convenient to transit. I stayed there 4th of July weekend a couple of summers ago. It was about $225/night.
I've also stayed at the Hudson on 58th, about a half block from Columbus Circle. (3 stops from Penn Station/Madison Sq Garden). The rooms were much smaller that the Hyatt, but nice enough. It was less expensive, maybe $180 range. There was a nightclub off of the lobby that was loud, but if you're at the club it doesn't matter.

I just paid much less than that for a marriott a few blocks from grand central fwiw. OP, just check all of the travel sites. Should be able to get something decent for under $200/night.
