So Miles made an irrational reaction to Lee throwing INT's in '08? Shocking. Freshman Lee has been gone for 4 years.
Crowton/Lee/JJ was the trifecta of suck. Crowton is a QB crusher...ask Maryland. injuries to the o-line and Mett having no pocket presense hurt this year but the offense did change from last year. it wasn't run, run, pass anymore. if Mett is a little more accurate we're not even having this conversation IMO. hopefully it improves next season......but you know me....the eternal optimist

No, he's not. Ask La Tech. Ask Tim Rattay. Ask Matt Flynn.

Are you serious! Yeah Coach Meyer didn't win a BCSC early in his tenure at UF. Also dip shite , Denardo never had 2-3 great classes. Get a clue. Like I said, it's easier to finish in the top 5 two years in a row than finish top 5 7-8 years in a row. God our fan base is ignorant. If you think it's easier to maintain a powerhouse program ( Kiffen is failing at USC to MAINTAIN what PC built, Chizik built a national champ , but couldn't maintain the program, Texas is a top 5 coaching job , yet MB can't have SUSTAINED SUCCESS.

I am serious. Coaches and people being tHe scenes in CFB all know its harder to be a consistent top 10 program over a decade , than it is to have two top 5 finishes. If you can't understand this , you're dumb.

Yep-- coasting is a pretty good description. If someone were paying you close to $4M per year with extensions every so often.-- and you had a fan base satisfied with winning 8-10 games/year while losing to 2-3 games to Alabama/ Florida each year etc. Why would you change anything? It takes an exceptional individual who is dedicated and determined to reach certain goals. Is Miles that person/coach?

Miles started in 05 and LSU leads all BCS programs in wins in the 8 yrs hes been here. I'm cool with that. LSU is also 49-19 in the SEC which leads all SEC programs since 05. I'm cool with that. LSU has 34 wins since 2010 which is tied for 3th among BCS schools. I'm cool with that. LSU is 21-5 in the SEC since 2010 which is the most wins in the conference. I'm cool with that. If you have a want to see that as "eating crumbs", knock yourself out. Me...I say as an LSU football fan I've never before had such a wonderful 5-star meal at the LSU fan dining table.
Still need some offensive work, but people need to get real. Miles is an extraordinarily successful coach running a pretty clean program.

Both are hard to do one is not "harder" than another. If anything I would say that as a coach myself that building a powerful program is harder than sustaining.
It has little to do with football. A psychologist is more qualified to understand this than is a football coach. I agree with kunka that they're both hard to do. What makes it so difficult to do both is they require different strengths. Climbing the organizational mountain requires ambition, resolve, and talent. Staying on top requires either modesty, to prevent arrogance from causing complacency (that's what happened to Fulmer), or it requires such burning ambition that it doesn't matter (Spurrier). Clearly Miles had what it takes to climb that mountain, and he seems to have the humility to stay there.
