I'm in an MBA program now and it does open doors. You should have some work experience first though so you can show you are more than just a degree earner.

Is this the slogan of every grad school ever? I don't doubt it does, but every single person I know with a Masters says that word for word.
I'm planning to go get my MBA starting next year. Will have roughly three years of work experience under my belt, and my work has a tuition reimbursement program.

You will get better responses on the Money board, but there are a multitude of factors that would determine whether a MBA is right for you.
How much work experience do you have? Are you currently in management? Looking to change careers? Would it be a check the box exercise for a promotion? What tier school could you get into? Would you have to go into debt? That's just a few o the questions you would have to answer before you can really get a meaningful response.

It really depends on where you are in your career. I personally think an MBA without 5 or more years of professional experience is a bit of a liability. MBA's are not uncommon any more and most employers place a high value on having legitimate managerial/leadership experience plus the MBA. An MBA without said experience is often viewed as an unproven commodity and has a harder time gaining employment and commanding a higher salary.
The MBA is a tough but rewarding experience and the networking you get is immeasurable. If you do choose to pursue an MBA be sure it's an AACSB accredited program.

I grad from UL in 06 (obviously) got my MBA right after at a different school....grad in 08 with the MBA. The only thing that employers see is that they have to pay you more and you are suppose to know more. In reality most companies operate on their own terms...what you learn in your MBA program will only half-way apply.
Having an MBA has done moderately well for me. I had a grad assist. job that paid for everything sans books. Had I paid for my MBA I wouldn't think it was worth it.

Kind of in the same boat, I went right from undergrad because I had the opportunity to have it paid for. I graduate in May so I am about to start sending out the resume like crazy
