Found the perfect car (again). Low mileage decent price clean carfax good negotiation ... had cashiers check ready and about to book plane ticket to pick it up tomorrow in Dallas. Gave he carfax one more skim and noticed all the maintenance was done in tricking new Jersey right up until Sandy. Cancelled the deal and I think I lost my deposit. They would not guarantee me that it was not involved in the hurricane. FmL.

Ask yourself:
Why does someone get rid of a 1-2 year old car with low miles?
Always, always, be extra careful about these types of cars.
They are the most likely to have been rebuilt or salvage repair with a title wash.
Insurance companies are in on it too, of course. It helps mitigate their loss payout.

Also, Carfax is not absolutely totally worthless, but close.
Run the VIN through a BMW dealer to see the real service history.

Best way to by a car like that is from a BMW dealer's used inventory. It will probably be a new car trade-in.
Then, make sure it is Certified Pre-owned by BMW.
Then, get the extended factory warranty.
