To this day, nobody has been able to recreate the incredible sound this guy got out of his Les Paul Oft imitated, imitation is the best form of flattery, is it not. He´s obviously in his decadence here, but still, he´s magnetic. Kind of sad, but I think this is testament to his value and merit (as he´s pretty spent here). Paul Stanley shameless copied his look, to no avail. Many, including Slash, have tried to copy his sound. He was no virtuoso by any means, it was simply God given talent, 10% at most, and 90% determination. David Bowie would not be what he is without this guy. I really admire this guy.

Speaking of Jane´s Addiction, what´s with the Caribbean steel drums in Jane Says? Enquiring minds want to know. Anyway, as Chef Leppard said, they´ve got some songs where the bass riffs are memorable.

They were always in the art rock genre IMO. I don't like them nearly as much as I did back in the day, but they've got 5 or 6 songs that are pretty classic.

Okay, maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. Having seen them in really small venues very early as they emerged, I can tell you that a lot of what they did was avant garde w/ regard to stage setup, etc.

is an absolutely beautiful song. I´ve always felt a ´ weakness ´for all things Nina Simone. Such a talent. Elegant, strong, piercing lyrics, she was absolutely amazing. My Baby is her globally known tune, but she´s had sooooooooo many great songs. Wild Is The Wind has always been my favorite, along with Sinner Man. Ah, and ´Ain´t Got No, I´ve Got Life ´ is absolutely amazing as well. Live

Indeed. Always been my favorite. Even though I admittedly have also always loved her cover of "Here Comes the Sun".

An impolute song done by a tremendous talent is always an incredible experience. I had a two disc CD of hers which had some pretty obscure stuff, her redoing negro spirituals, which was off the wall amazing. Amazing. She moves. If listening to her doesn´t inspire movement inside you, then you´re dead.
