Damn after reading what all of y'all lost, I was pissed off last night when I died after finding a hatchet and an extra bandage! Looks like ongoing to have to accept it lmao

It happens. You try your best to avoid it, but don’t let it ruin your experience. I kind of have a routine that I follow now when I die. First I make my way to one of the major cities on the southern coast (cherno and/or electro) and gear up there. If I die then who cares…I don’t have shite  Always hit the supermarkets in these towns. Thats where u find loads of useful stuff. Not great weapons, but maps, compasses, better backpacks, food, water, binoculars, etc. Then I go to the Balota airfield (just to the west of cherno) where you can usually find a decent military rifle. You will find that once you get use to it, after an hour or two you are pretty much back to pretty good shape.

No. Getting mad over getting hacked to death my some douche who I am 99.99% sure was cheating to find my location and ambush me. We were the only 2 a-holes one the server and I wasn’t in a major city...just some random small town. The chances of him just happening to be there were pretty low.
(It was also kind of humiliating to die via ax when I had a weapon )

How much is needed to install Arma 2 and DayZ. Im thinking about installing it on my Mac using bootcamp. Has anyone tried this before????

dayZ is just a mod, so it doesn't even take up 1 gb, arma 2 and arma 2 oa takes up about 20+ gbs if I remember correctly.

DayZ does indeed work on Mac as long as you have windows 7 installed using bootcamp.

I am so glad I tried this game, I'm addicted! After I did what all of you said about facing the fact that you will die and lose everything a lot, I just like the game a whole lot more!

get a spawn near cherno or electro. run to medical tents in cherno and the fire house. in electro run to both fire houses. Higher chance of getting shot but worth it if you find a decent gun. Also, find a enfield and kill a guy who has an ak.

This thread makes me what to get back into it. The last time me and a friend played we stayed up all night getting helicopter parts. One of the most rewarding and fun experiences in any video game ever once we finally got it up and running.
