That wasn't the question or the point. You think you're winning an argument by changing talking point. The posters said Saban lost 4 games in 04 because of losing his players. Miles has lost back to back Bednarik and Thorpe winners and won ten games while losing 8 starters after the spring game.
Miles then went 9-4 following his 8-5 season in 2008.

Well, coaches don't usually get fired for doing well. Saban replaced a fired coach.
Dinardo was fired because he wouldn't replace Tepper. if Dinardo gets a new DC, Saban may still be at Michigan State.

The program was in a shambles and he made the administration build elite facilities that are a fantastic recruiting tool.
the program was not in "shambles". of the 26 players that went pro under Saban, 17 of them were Dinardo recruits. Saban is a great coach...but y'all seem to have this revisionist history of his time here.
quote:
So, he really did have quite a full plate as opposed to Miles inheriting a team that was 2 years removed from a national title.
and who had just lost 4 games and a bowl game to a shitty Iowa team and having the recruiting class completely f'd up because Saban didn't do shite before he left.

Actually I have been coaching football longer than you've probably been alive and no one on this board is more in tune with LSU's football history and what goes on around the program than myself.

8 losing seasons in 11 years and replacing a coach that had won 6 games the previous 2 years combined = a program not in shambles?

Dinardo was rebuilding....then Tepper came aboard and Dinardo refused to fire him. just look at the timeline from before Dinardo...to when Dinardo was hired...to when Tepper was hired. its not that difficult to figure out.

Saban already had 1 foot out of the door at LSU. He wanted out and as many have said or figured he mailed in his last few games as a coach. Dan Radakovich is on record as having Nick Saban passing him in the hall and saying "Dan, i've got to get out of here..." take it for what it's worth. I'm not a Saban worshipper, but the fact is that he stands in the way of this LSU team going any where ever year and he is a better coach....in our division.

6 straight losing seasons from '89 - '94 Dinardo is hired in '95 - '95 7-4-1 bowl game - '96 9-2 bowl game - '97 9-3 bowl game Lou Tepper is hired as DC - '98 4-7 - '99 3-8 Dinardo refuses to fire Tepper...they're both let go.

You have no intellect to fathom or understand that Saban built something from the ground floor up
Nick decided he didn't want to be here on 12/04 and anything he "built" only remains after 9 yrs cause of the effort of Les and those he has hired or recruited to help him. With all due respect to Nick, LSU had won SEC titles, bowl games, and a NC before him. He's not one of a kind. Nick left LSU cause LSU was no longer good enough for him. You might want to let him go too.

No one needs you to explain what Dinardo did. Dinardo hired a great staff and won 26 games in 3 years and returned LSU to a respectable state as a program only to destroy what he started by letting his best coaches leave and replacing them with incompetent coaches, and being to loyal and hard headed to make the changes necessary. He wins 6 games combined in his last 2 years at LSU and places LSU in the same place it was before he got there. Dinardo won with Hallman's players. By the time he had his own he destroyed the program. Saban won with Dinardo players and by the time he had his own, he was winning a national championship and laying the crowd work for a program to have a chance to build a dynasty year in and year out for the long haul.

Les does LESS with more than just about every other team we compete with nationally. It's a fact. Sorry to burst your bubble.
I don't think you know what a FACT IS. This is a fact. Since LES MOLES WAS HORED AT LSU , no SEC team has won more games. This is an opinion. Les does LESS with more than just about every team. You are an idiot. Period. Bama has out recruited LSU for the last 4-5 years and year LSU beat Bama in 2010 and 2011 in BDS. LSU also destroyed the PAC 12 champ and the big east champ. Miles has also destroyed Notre Dame, Ohio state, Miami, Washington ,west Virginia, and va tech BUT YEAH HE IS DOING LESS WITH MORE. Your argument is based on ignorant bias. Mine is based on facts and accomplishments. Is Miles perfect? Hell no. Do we need change at offense? Hell yeah. IS MILES A GOOD COACH? THIS IS ANOTHER FACT: in the history of the SEC , of all the coaches that have coached 100 games, LES MILES HAS THE HIGHEST WINNING % of all of them. Better than SABAN, BEAR , NEYLAND, SPURRIER. DID YOU GET THAT? Les miles has the higher winning % of any SEC coach to coach 100 games. Period. BUT YEAH HE IS DOING LESS WITH MORE. I HATE OUR IGNORANT AND ENTITLED FAN BASE.

That's BS and you know it. LSU was 3-0 and ranked #6 in America in 1998 when Georgia came to town. and LSU would go 1-7 the rest of the season. They were anything but rebuilding, they were being picked by many people to win the National Championship that year.

Never held him to begin with. Just stating facts. Rome was not build overnight. It takes years of hard work and foundation building to get a program to an elite level and to stay there. If LSU would have never hired Mark Emmert and Nick Saban LSU football would not be where it is today. If you can't see that then I feel sorry for you as an ignorant, dumb arse human being.

thanks for proving my point. Dinardo got them there. they were #6 because of what Dinardo did the previous 3 years. Before him they had 6 straight losing seasons. Tepper was hired in '98....They started SEC play and Tepper couldn't handle SEC offenses.

Les gives stud a list of plays for that game's script on Tuesday and Wednesday..and Stud calls from that list. Everyone wants a new OC. If LSU got Kevin Sumlin and Mike Leach as Co-OC's the offense would still look the EXACT same. Stud simply calls plays from a list provided by CLM. Not hating on Miles, im simply saying that a changing of OC's will yield little difference if any in the scheme. Bowling Green didnt have this scheme when Stud was there.
100 percent correct. I have 'sources' too Have a great day

Saban lost atleast 3 games every year besides 1. he's a great coach but y'all give that dude way too much credit.
