Great trip you have planned. South Beach: drinks at the Clevelander Beds (The club the Jersey Shore kids went to, at least say you went in one south beach night club) drinks or dine at Fountain Blue Visit all the shops, assuming your taking a girl, visit Dash, the Kardashian's store. Gianni Versace's Mansion on South Beach Key West: #1, when people say KW is a gay town, they have never been. Like Nola there is a gay area, that is all. Ernest Hemmingway home Sunset on the Square, beautiful with tons of street performers Duval St bars Caroline Street get a burger & a tshirt at Margaritaville just to say you did so. Visit the southern most point in the US No need for a car if your flying from MIA > EYW Have a great time. I really want to visit key west again.

When in South Beach I always like to eat at Puerto Sagua restaurant off of Collins Ave. It's a diner/dive type place but has good honest Cuban cuisine in huge portions and priced very inexpensively. Try a Hatuey beer and enjoy a Cuban coffee while you are there.

Blue heaven for breakfast or dinner, lunch is good as well. For breakfast be prepared for a possible two hour wait. If so, go do the hemmingway house in the mean time. ETA: for breakfast, BLT bennedict (Bacon Lobster, grilled tomato) for dinner, most everything is good, get the blue heaven for dessert (Vanilla ice cream/bannas foster on top of banana bread ) Rent bikes not scooters. I just got back from down there. Hopefully the weather stays in the 70 /80's for ya.

That would be in Hawaii. You smoked weed at the southernmost point in the continental US.

Not saying I dont believe you, as I have not been there during every season, but the sun usually sets on the other end of the island

Key West has become way more commercialized and touristy in the past decades, but it's still a fun place. And 3 days/nights is more than enough to see everything. If you like Cuban food, definitely hit El Siboney, which is off the beaten path but worth the walk (or, it was when I was last there in 2007). Definitely a good call to turn in the car- parking is a pain and you can easily walk most places. Overtly gay? Not really, unless you're going on a festival week.

Believe it or not, Southwest is doing a true direct flight to Key West. I have to stay flying into Key West's small 4800 ft runway on a 737 is cool. I few on a Delta 737 a few years ago to and from there.

I lived in Key West a cpl of years. If you like real laid back ppl hit Schooners Wharf, cool outdoorsy/rustic bar. When I go back on vacation its where I spend most of my time. For guys, if you wana pick up chicks go to the drag shows and sit at the bar. Nothing buts chicks in those places, easy pickings.
