| Youth All-American Bowl - Sun, Jan 6 (LSU Related) (Posted on 1/3/13 at 7:48 am)
7th and 8th graders in the Alamodome this Sunday. I only mention this because one of the participants is reported to be LSU commit(?) Dylan Moses. (Remember him? ), which I discovered HERE - after clicking on link to see supposed stud rb Alex Perry)
quote:
Dylan Moses of Baton Rouge, La., is verbally committed to LSU and will be the main attraction at the annual youth football showcase, which features 48 of the nation’s top eighth-grade players. Moses, who is already 6-foot, 205 pounds and runs a 4.4-second 40-yard dash, made national news when he committed to the Tigers after being offered a scholarship last summer at their camp.
Is Dylan actually committed? Rivals/Scout doesn't show him as a commit, anyway. Game is supposed to be streamed via web (info/link HERE)
quote:
Pitting the nation’s top 7th and 8th graders against one another in an all-star format, the Eastbay Youth All-American Bowl brings together the top youth talent. This year, the Bowl returns to the Alamodome in San Antonio on Sunday, January 6, 2013, and will once again be webcast live on www.footballuniversity.org and www.allamericangames.tv. The Eastbay Youth All-American Bowl consists of two East vs. West all-star games, one for the top 35 7th graders with no weight limit and a second game featuring the top 35 8th graders with no weight limit. Also returning this year is the USA-Canada Youth Bowl. It hopes to surpass the contests of the previous two years, which the teams have split.

Man, wish they would've had this when Michael Clayton and Mewelde Moore were tearing it up at Family Christian Academy.

On my way now. Nephew is playing for team NWLA in the FBU National Championships. They play Orange County, CA tomorrow. If they win they play in the national championship against the Maryland/South Florida winner. I'm going to all the games this weekend, I'll lyk how it goes.

They really stretched the definition of northwest Louisiana to get all those Monroe kids on the team.

i wonder if the monroe kids are already 17 seriously though, i really hope that poster's red headed little brother gets invited to this. The one who had like 2000 yards, 40 TDs, and 152 tackles with his dad charting his stats.

There's a kid from Sterlington, 2 linemen from Baton Rouge, Moses, Rummel RB, and Connor Curry QB/Orlando Puryear WR from Evangel in the 8th grade game. John Bailey Gullatt from West Monroe was selected as a MLB for the 7th grade team, but he chose to play with NWLA instead. That's it for LA in this one. Curry is #1, Moses is #4, and Puryear is #8 in the nation on Youth 1's rankings of the class. Rankings

Really Les has an official offer to an eight grader? I would have to hear Les say it. I just read the article. I guess LSU figured what do they have to lose? He can't sign in forever. If something happens its easy enough to pull the offer. If he develops they can say they offered him first. I still think its silly. He can't sign in a very long time.

7th and 8th graders in an all-star game? The recruiting game just gets weirder and weirder.

He showed up to LSU's camp over the summer with his HS's 7on7 team. He did all the measuable stuff and then was offered. Don't try to make it sound like we're out scouting the playgrounds. He showed up and eanred the offer. His measurables would have warranted an offer if he were a senior in HS.
