OK, I think I can be the judge here. I was born and raised in New Iberia and knew folks in the Landry family. They are not swamp trash. That would be the Hebert family. I'm not gonna even mention the Gonsolin's because they pretty much died out from stupidity.
I came to Shreveport for college and lived here every since. I have heard Jeff Landry speak and he is much less irritating than the dumb arse broadcasters at KEEL radio who can't read.
Also, people up here in Shreveport speak MUCH slower than folks in New Iberia. That's a sign of lower intelligence.
However, I have found one north La. redneck who I consider a friggin' genius. Uncle Si:
