| Official DayZ stand alone thread (Posted on 12/27/12 at 11:29 pm)
QandA with Rocket DayZ stand alone pictures (from october) Most recent quote from Dean Hall
quote:
I know I have been very quiet lately. So this will be really all I'll say for the moment. I've been pretty depressed about the whole situation. From a personal standpoint, this whole "saga" of the development made me seriously question if I wanted to be involved in the industry and I gave serious thought to cutting my losses and not being involved in the project. At my Army Discharge medical this week, they noted I now have high blood pressure. Some things in life just aren't worth worrying about. I've been getting hammered by a massive amount with requests for information about DayZ release, interviews and my reactions to this and stuff and such - but for my own sanity I retreated and have kept to myself. Right now I'm just at home doing bits and pieces on the DayZ development. The rest of the DayZ team is doing the same. I realize that I went back on my word about releasing an update, but went back into my shell for a bit last week, and I'll come out when the dust is all settled.
Stand alone is probably going to be pushed back. Post your servers! DayZ Namalsk Team Merica3 Starter gear |DayZ.ST (ip-198.105.220.164:3068) New information 1/8/2013 LINK

This reminds me of a documentary I watched on netflix about indie game developers. The pressure to develop the game and get it released becomes incredible. I don't want to go through that.

I'm thinking about downloading Arma 2 and doing this. I just got a mod for Star Trek Aramad II and have been occupied with that though.

All I have is a laptop. I'm pretty sure I couldn't run it.

Those concept pics are super old and fan made. I saw them months ago before the stand alone was even announced.

Ready for this to come out. Didn't Hall say it would run better on older PC's? Mine runs it fine but it is always nice to get some more FPS.

+1 ARMA II is pretty fricking demanding. Steve the Pirate said he is pretty sure there will never be a standalone with the way Rocket has been acting lately

For real, game development sounds like a nightmare.
