Any one have anything besides Goal.com on the Derek Boateng to Fulham story? Goal reports that he had a medical this morning. If you recall, there was almost a deal on August 31, 2012.

Can somebody explain this 7 mil clause in Ba's contract? Why is Chelsea the only team that put this money up? Is it basically, everyone would pay the 7 mil, but Ba would go to Chelsea because they will give him the highest wage?

Essentially yes. Any club can trigger the buyout clause, but the player can usually choose which one to go to (assuming there is more than one).

Ba also comes with some significant agent/transfer related fees. Probably closer to £10mil. Well worth the risk though for a goalscorer with his recent record.

Chris David to Fulham from FC Twente
