Explain 2007 then, Mr. Know it all.
Also, I highly doubt you have sources... every swinging dick on here claims to have "sources". My sources say you are all full of shite.

If you're talking about 2nd down, Mett even admitted to being a pass/run option.

Mett called the pass on 2nd down.
Mett audibled on 1st down into a pass

If Mett throws that pass instead tripping over himself and completes it is pure genius? I know, the smart odds thing to do is run Hill but hey, the O went like 0-8 3rd down or something 2nd half so he tried a sneaker play?

Actually not 1 part of me believes you!

While LM as would any head coach has huge influence on the Offensive gameplan each week, to suggest the OC also has no influence would suggest either 1) LM leads by an autocratic dominant leadership style (which is not correct) or 2) LM lacks confidence on the OC ability to formulate a gameplan. If the latter is true, then get a top notch OC, pay them the way we pay a top notch DC, have input to the process to synergies decisions about the gameplan, but otherwise, empower the OC to drive the influence and decisions for the O and hold them accountable for the results. That's what leaders do.

Yes, and Clemson had a copy of the list. We've been runnung the same plays for 5 years.

Yeah, but if Stud has the choice between running on 2nd and 2 or passing on 2nd and 2 and he chooses the latter in a critical situation (say, we're trying to run the clock down and pick up the first down at the same time) - you don't think a better offensive minded coach makes the right choice in that situation?

Calling plays from a list provided to you is simple enough - you need to properly choose the plays, dictated by various game situations. It just doesn't seem to be happening enough...

A change in OC could yield great differencs in the game scheme - surely you don't think the Coordinators just take the head coaches game script and not say a word? They have plenty of influence - that's what they're being paid to do! It's just the right arguments or recommendations aren't being made right now, and that needs to change - execution of a 3 yards and a cloud of dust philosophy is one thing, but these kids need to have to opportunity to utilize their talents and skills in the right situations.

Play calling on offense has sucked for many years. Thank God for our Defense or we would never be in many games. We are the only team in the SEC. that wins with just Defense!

I just dont see why, when we were not rotecting well and they were stacking the box, we didnt do some quick dink and dunk passes to back them up. I know Mett is slow with the release but hell put him in the shotgun to give him the extra second he needs. The bottom line is Miles wanted to just win the game when we got the 11 pt lead and it backfired on him. What is wrong with going out with guns blazing as kicking someone Arse when you have the chance? WHy does every game need to be close?

re: Just so people realize, IT AINT STUD's Offense

every coach including stud has openly admitted everyone is involved and miles has last say so because he is the HC. The fact that some think miles is not heavily involved is mind boggling. look back at the last few years. how can you not see it?

what is funny is if miles paid the same attention to offense that he does to defense he just might have another NC and be playing for his 3rd this year. IOW, HIRE A DAMN OC and give him full reign like chavis.

oh well. so much for that. his offense is the millstone around the program.

Serious questionZ:
For those who contend that "it ain't Stud's offense", what is Stud accountable for?
He he accountable for the offensive line?
For the WRs?

Hate to bust up such a great "inside scoop" but every OC in football uses a list of plays for each game that has been determined based on the coaching staffs assessment of the opposing teams weaknesses or "game plan" as its better known. So the insider you have while telling you the truth is obviously a maintenance man or janitor who knows nothing about football if he (and you also) think this would indicate some type of breaking news or indictment of Miles and LSU's offense!!

Jesus!!!! Seriously.

Assuming you know what you are talking about, whose decision is it to throw 3 times with 2:43 left and all you need is to run clock get a first down and you win the game? Who makes that decision?

All decisions should go thru the Head Coach! And since Miles has been the HC at LSU some of his decisions, like throwing 3 times with 2:43 to play, proves that he is an IDIOT!!

Your wasting your breath with these morons.....they are going to believe what they want.

I've been told the same thing by someone familiar with the situation as well. Even if I wasn't it isn't that hard to figure out.

We've had three offensive coordinators under Miles, and none of them have had offensive systems similiar to what they ran prior to getting here.
The only slight exception is Jimbo and a handful of his plays remained, but the offense certainly looked different.

Crowton - ran 5 wides, throw it all over the yard offense prior to getting here......did he do that here?

Studrawa - comes from the Bowling Green/Urban Meyer spread option type style of play. Is that run here?

I agree. Plus, how can some of you blame Mett when most of the night he didn't even have time to plant his feet after dropping back before he had pressure in his face

that's true but Mett's pocket awareness has been below average. when DE's rush up field Mett could've avoided about 1/3 of his sacks this year with a simple step up in the pocket and he fails to do almost every time. in sept and oct i gave him a pass. by dec this should be 2nd nature.

true good post.

i do think Les has an awful lot to do with gameplanning. but i think (my sources are in my head) that he probably doesn't override/suggest on field play calls as much as this crowd thinks he does.
