Is This a True Statement About the Speake?r

Boehner will not allow the House to vote straight up or down on a "fiscal cliff" bill unless he has a majority of Republican members' approval. In other words, even though there is a bill that has enough votes to pass, he won't allow it to come to a vote unless the majority of his party's member will vote yes. If this is true, is this good government? Does it reflect the will of the people?

That's the charge against Boehner. Is it accurate or not?

Boehner is a republican so of coarse it's his fault.

None of us have any ideas whether it's true in this particular case and/or driven by the motivations you outline (without a link).

However, not allowing votes is common practice in both houses of Congress, especially in the Senate under the patriotic and selfless leadership of Harry Reid.

Of course not. Is Obama politicizing everything and calling out the Republicans because "he won" and has political capital good government? Is a balanced approach in the campaign not the same as a balanced approach after he wins? This whole thing is bullshitee.

I'm sure liberals weren't doing the same, albeit in smaller numbers due to sheer demographics, when the gop was in power right?
In fact it was probably worse since everyone but the most hackish of poster knew bush was a disaster. Main difference now is the liberals here won't admit obama is bush without the war (but with increased drone strikes)

In this specific case, I am, indeed, smarter than you. I don't think I've ever said such a thing before. I don't enjoy it, but it's true.

I don't know if it's true but if it is, any Democrat supporter bitching about it should have their tongue ripped out.

See Reid.

THIS is the tiresome part. People like you posting something like your OP and then feigning like it's just happenstance that you never do it to the other side.

The whole pretense that somehow, you're just being a straight shooter.

This is probably the single dumbest post you've ever made, and there have been a multitude of them. You have admitted you haven't paid attention to the actions of Harry Reid with respect to the same charges you make against John Boehner, so just how exactly did you come to the realization of the charges you have lodged against Boehner? Since when do smart people watch one chamber of Congress and ignore the other? No legislation can pass without the approval of both, so how did a self-proclaimed smarter than you fail to notice what has been happening in the Senate since Reid has held the majority leadership?

Of course it's true and in this instance it's a good thing. The democrats party line would be free reign with the can being hidden down the road. Balance is needed but that doesn't excuse both sides perpetual fight over saving face and power.

Easy. He's a pretty confirmed liar on this board.

He lies all the fricking time in here. Hell, he's admitted to basically just saying shite to keep an argument going.

The dude is about as dishonest a debater as we have on this board. Rex is annoying but he doesn't pretend to not be partisan. VOR is every bit as partisan as Rex but pretends he's not.

I will state an absolute fact at 1:17 am, Central Time, Jan 1, 2013. The truth is that I honest to God don't give much of a frick about any of this crap. It's entertainment. Really. My life is fine. I make enough money and enjoy life. I'm sorry so many of you think America sucks and we're all going to hell.

It's a messy world out there with a lot of people who don't think like most of you do. Get the frick over it.
