I believe, but it takes time...years. It ain't the initial attraction, or the heavy sexual years...thats something else.

Sure but it was different and I liked it. Every other girl was the same scenario. My wife saw right through my exterior but did play games. You know what I love so much about my wife? She is a better person than I'll ever be and she still loves me.

I think what you have done is found a woman that fits what your ideals are of a good wife. she is probably a very good and decent woman but not someone that you had a strong sexual attraction to.

i think it is a process..you don't just spend a couple of days with someone and start loving them--if you think you do, you are experiencing puppy love. I think it has to have time to grow roots before there is anything that can be considered unshakable, unconditional love

My wife is a hotty, she was a thin Dixie Darling at USM. We meet at church and never had sex until our honeymoon. I slept with dozens of girls prior and my sexual needs are satisfied. I think a few in here have found it. I think I may have but not sure as I once was.

The only "true" love I think there is that of a parent for their child. And even then I'd say mothers are more likely to have that than fathers are, sad to say.

You couldn't be more wrong with this statement.

As far as true love in a relationship, I always compared every woman to my first love and nothing ever measured up to that standard, including the woman I eventually married. I assumed it was just something that went along with it being the first. Then I got divorced and met a woman in my 30's that eclipsed everything that came before. Being with her put me on a natural high and in return, no one ever made me feel more loved. But she had issues lurking in the background, I made some mistakes that intensified them, and we went our separate ways. I'm with a great girl now that I love but it isn't the same as with the aforementioned and not sure it ever will be with anyone again. But the most intense, crazy love isn't always the best kind. Love that burns like a wildfire may not be as good over time as the fire that burns slow and steady.

Take it with a bag of rock salt if you will. Truth is truth. I really hope I'm wrong, in a way. But the part of me that believed it with every fiber of my being was cut out of me by betrayal.

The saddest thing from lips or pen is simply to know what might have been. Words I wrote in HS. Another more famous person once said that youth is wasted on the young. Confidence fades, nerves crepe in. Live and learn.

Look at all the bastards that have no clue who their fathers are. At least a child usually knows it's mother.

It's a sad state of affairs we live in.

I did too but later in my late 20s. I think my other relationship were just practice. No relationship is perfect except on facebook.

re: Do you still believe in true love?

I do. I've dated & boned tons of chicks in the past 10 years. Most I got bored with. I loved being single, lived a great life & had zero plans of settling down.

Then I went on a date with my current girlfriend and knew almost immediately things were different. So did she. 4 months later we are definitely in love. We are still learning each other but we know we're the perfect match. It only took us both 31 years.

Funny how I went to Ole Miss but ended up marrying a Southern Miss grad. FWIW, wife would have nothing to do w/ me for 1 whole year and turned me down three times before ging out w/ me. We were engaged after 5 months and married after 8. She got me to want more from life.

Fear of eternal damnation can be a powerful motivator to keep her in line.
