What is it? A pound of styrofoam is a hell of a lot lighter than a pound of lead.

I'd say USPS ETA: definitely not the quickest though.

If you got some zips I can give you a FedEx quote real quick. Happen to be shipping something right now

Doesn't matter how long it takes. I just sold something on a Gunbroker.com auction and need to send it to Illinois

USPS is almost always the cheapest. They have insurance, proof of delivery and tracking like the big boys. I use them when shipping larger packages.

Used Pville zip to ship from since you didn't give me an orgin. 8.64 via FedEx dropping it off at a location.

The size of the box matters, so a pound of lead would be cheaper to ship, unless you have a contracted account that they only charge you by the weight.

You know, styrofoam isn't that heavy, weight's closer to a pound of cotton than steel.

Since time doesn't matter, then FedEx Ground and UPS might be able to compete with USPS's rates.

Yeah, I usually only check by weight unless it is a weird size. Don't do that much styrofoam shipping though. USPS had those flat rate boxes that you can make work. They get pissed when you cut them up and modify the box though. Try to charge you a different rate. I told them it is the same cubic volume. They have no sense of humor.

Trick question, the pound is based off silver, not gold.
