But the GOP blocked it.
Any more proof needed that GOP are in the pockets of big business instead of our most vulnerable, preventing more money from going into the pockets of our citizens?

A raise in the minimum wage would hurt small businesses much more. The big businesses, on the other hand, would probably be only ones who could afford it.
Besides, how would raising the minimum wage help the unemployment rate? Low income workers have suffered more than anyone in the past few years. Making it harder for employers to hire them will only add to the misery.

Do you know anyone fricking stupid enough to raise a family on Min Wage? If you do they need their kids taken away from them, my 16 yr old daughter makes more than min at the grocery store.

Sounds simple enough. They should just print $1M bills and give them to everyone. No one will go hungry again.

How times have changed. I think I made the minimum when I did the same job as her at that age. I was damn proud of the $40 bucks a week I made too.

They are the absolute GREATEST at single variable thinking.
Two hypothetical proposals for 10 poor people with jobs.
1)Mandate a raise for all of them resulting in 3 being laid off
2)Leave policy pat and all 10 continue to work.
Dumb frick liberals will choose #1 over #2 ten out of ten times.
