actually in the middle of a debate with a friend on FB over this exact thing. my thought is that if you have the best player at a position, then you can't justify letting him go, IMO. people forget how rare it is to have as good of a punter/kickoff guy as the saints have right now. go back to having some run of the mill punter/kickoff guy, and see how much you want Morstead back. there's a reason he's the 3rd highest paid punter in the league. he could probably be making more.

If your punt coverage stinks then what good does having a godly punter do? I just want someone that can pin it inside the 20. Something we have not been very good at. In fact Morstead is near the bottom of the league at it. There are 5-6 punters in the same league as Morstead and not a huge gap top to bottom. If the defense gives up near 8 yards a play then what difference does that 8 yards per punt diff in avg from #1 P to #32 P really matter?
