Beck is solid artist, one of the best of the 90's (The Dust Brothers production helped him lift off)
To me he is most underrated as a lyricist, songwriter (Sea Changes), and, yes, rapper.
He has some of the wackiest lyrics of all time, for sure, and makes them catchy:

Also one of the best of the 2000's so far.His new albums are as good as his old ones.

I like Jack White but he sucks compared to Beck imo.Not nearly as good of a songwriter.

I can see your argument about Beck's songwriting capabilities. However JW is a far superior musician.

Maybe so, they're both good.I put songwriting over musicianship as far as the type of artists I like.

Fair enough. I am less of a singer-songwriter kind of guy and enjoy incredible musicianship. I largely see vocals as merely another instrument with the meaning of the lyrics themselves as having secondary importance. Yet I realize I am in the minority with this view.

I like him. I've only listened to maybe 3 of his albums, though. He's got a ton of material.
