In no particular order: Loreena McKennitt Anne Wilson Freddy Mercury Geoff Tate ETA: She belts this shite out so effortlessly... Loreena McKennit - The Old Ways (Live) (when it should sound shitty due to video quality... but doesn't - you've got talent) Loreena McKennitt - All Souls Night (live)

Art Garfunkel. I don't think there's a greater live performance ever than THIS: For Emily
That is terrific! This is one is from the Live 1969 album - recorded the tour the Bridge album came out. So this is the first time this crowd is hearing Bridge Over Troubled Water. Their applause is very telling. BOTW Watching/hearing these raises another issue - Paul Simon is VERY underrated as a guitar player.

Some of these posters are confusing POWERFUL with beautiful. Freddie Mercury and Steve Perry are definitely more powerful than Art Garfunkel, and they're great singers, to be sure, but Garfunkel's voice is more beautiful. I still vote for Ray Charles, though, as the greatest of all singers.

I spent my formative years listening to both, but my vote still goes to the golden pipes of the late Mr. Mojo Risin.

Listening to Vince Gill right now. I think he falls into the "beautiful" voice category.

Still the most powerful vocal intro I've ever heard. Suite Sister Mary and Anybody Listening are fricking great as well. I saw them at the Varsity and they were downright amazing. He's still got it.

On their earlier stuff Geoff was amazing. I saw them live a couple of times in the late 80s and early 90s. They used to put on a great show.

For rock it's Chris Cornell for me, overall it's Andrea Bocelli. I don't like opera but that dude has pipes.

Any list that doesn't have hundreds of opera singers at the top isn't legit.
