It's very good.
I've read every Jack Reacher novel. I pre-order them in hardback so I get them the day they come out. I love the series, and no, I couldn't see Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher.
Having said that, the movie is still very good. It succeeds in spite of Tom Cruise, rather than because of him, but it was way better than I thought it was going to be.
If you're a fan of the books, the movie is definitely worth seeing.

Because I am not a Cruise fan. The only two movies of his I hold in high regard are Top Gun (Great) and The Last Samurai (Good). Other then that I have no interest in him.
