I fear for the parents and kids in your district, if you truly are a school board elected official.

Nah...I am all for rational debate even when I have a differing opinion but you have shown that it's a good possibility you let emotions cloud your judgement and get the best of you at times. Like this for example. LINK

Maybe after the first clip you would have noticed the bulky Kevlar vest and changed your aim.

Derail aside im not sure why you have a problem with what i said there. I dont believe the guy raped some girl. I believe he just didnt get her ready before taking action. And obviously i dont discuss such things in my capacity as a school board member or with children at all.

In the spirit of honesty, I have to admit I posted the wrong Obama speech quote earlier. That one was from a different Memorial Service after a shooting when he mentioned gun safety and doing something. Here is from tonights:
quote:
Since I’ve been president, this is the fourth time we have come together to comfort a grieving community torn apart by mass shootings, fourth time we’ve hugged survivors, the fourth time we’ve consoled the families of victims. And in between, there have been an endless series of deadly shootings across the country, almost daily reports of victims, many of them children, in small towns and in big cities all across America, victims whose -- much of the time their only fault was being at the wrong place at the wrong time. We can’t tolerate this anymore. These tragedies must end. And to end them, we must change. We will be told that the causes of such violence are complex, and that is true. No single law, no set of laws can eliminate evil from the world or prevent every senseless act of violence in our society, but that can’t be an excuse for inaction. If there’s even one step we can take to save another child or another parent or another town from the grief that’s visited Tucson and Aurora and Oak Creek and Newtown and communities from Columbine to Blacksburg before that, then surely we have an obligation to try. In the coming weeks, I’ll use whatever power this office holds to engage my fellow citizens, from law enforcement, to mental health professionals, to parents and educators, in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this, because what choice do we have? We can’t accept events like this as routine. Are we really prepared to say that we’re powerless in the face of such carnage, that the politics are too hard? Are we prepared to say that such violence visited on our children year after year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?
That did nothing to Memorialize the victims. That was clearly a subtle political steering towards an agenda that his Party and administration has begun pushing already for a couple of days.

It's no secret that he has long been in favor of gun control. Just as former Reagan press secretary's wife has been for gun control since her husband was shot. As a person who does not own a gun I have no strong feeling one way or the other. I think people should be able to own guns for sport and self protection but believe that if one uses a firearm in the commission of a crime there should be mandatory non-discretionary sentencing guidlines. If one kills with a firearm (other than in self-defense) mandatory death sentence.

I'd have no problem with that.

As of Monday Morning. Anything anyone can add to this? I've heard of some great stories following the Shooting(Victor Cruz and what he did for one of the little boys) I am just wondering what else has come up since the Shooting. Motive? How he entered? How he did it? I just remember alot of reports that day being all over the place and just wondering if theres somewhere where its broken down correctly or if someone knows and would like to share.

Sorry; I know I'm late on this.
quote:
People with Aspergers are definitely known for violent outbursts and lack of emotion.
quote:
100% FALSE Asperger's is a form of high functioning autism. They do not have a lack of emotion, but difficulty expressing emotion. Not the same thing. In fact, they are incredibly empathetic and overly emotional frequently. And they are not prone to violence. At all. In fact, they are 4x more likely to be the victim of a violent crime than the average person because they are naive and easily manipulated. Please don't perpetuate totally false stereotypes. ETA: The "violent" outbursts people reference are generally in the form of self-harm due to frustration at not being able to express themselves or communicate clearly. A child with severe autism may lash out to those around him for this reason as well, but Asperger's kids typically don't.Violence is NOT a characteristic of Asperger's.
Thank you; drunkenpunkin, I have Asperger's and you've pretty much nailed it.

Fox is reporting that his mother was in the process of filling out paperwork to have Adam committed. He supposedly found out and was furious. He was also jealous of the time his mother spent as a volunteer at Sandy Hook.
