Auburn fans, how do you feel about this?

Makes me want to drink bleach. We could go get the best of the best, yet we settle because our AD is a goddamn retard.

Malzahn is 8-4 coach at best.

oh there's a point... it starts with Troll and ends with ing.

i'm not trolling at all. I seriously want to know how Auburn feels about "keeping it in the family" with their coaching hires while teams like LSU, Bama, and Arkansas go hire who they think the best coach available is. It is a valid question.

You've now hired two coaches in a row who haven't proven they can win as HC in a BCS conference. And, it appears that one of the large contributing factors to them being hired is their ties to Auburn.

Would you rather a coach with a winning BCS coaching record, or a coach with Auburn ties with a resume that includes zero games as a HC at a BCS school, or a coach with Auburn ties who was a disaster at the only BCS HC job he ever held?

Maybe I'm out there, but I think that Auburn is way too good of a football job to have made the last two hires they've made.

ETA: IMO, you are making hires that Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Mississippi State make, instead of making a big boy hire.

Typically these guys aren't lining up for new jobs.

Quit moving the goalpost.

I think you should be asking why Jay Jacobs is a retard. All we as fans can do is moan and groan and eventually support the new head coach because bitching about it does nothing.

Right now, our main goal isn't beating Saban. It's getting back to the top of the SEC West. It's been lonely down here.

Only if your school is equal to Kentucky or Vandy. You mean to tell me that Auburn isn't at a level that they couldn't poach a winning coach that is at some lower level BCS school? Do you really accept that Auburn isn't on the same level as Alabama, LSU, and even Arkansas?

You aren't Ole Miss, and you're AD needs to stop hiring football coaches like you are.

Yea I think Les was right around a .500 coach at Ok St, so not really. He beat OU a couple of times to put himself on the map.

Spare me this shite.

I can play the examples game too
who did uga hire?
what about oklahoma?
Florida?
Oregon?

Those guys don't look like vandy or UK to me.

Or has your argument moved again to where we shouldn't even consider coordinators, and especially former ones?

Top 25, BCS schools, might not be the final top 25, but from a few weeks ago

quote:

Notre Dame - proven head coach smaller school
Alabama - proven SEC head coach
Florida - coordinator, no head coaching experience
Oregon - coordinator, no head coaching experience
Kansas St - coordinator, no head coaching experience (originally)
Stanford - coordinator, no head coaching experience
Georgia - coordinator, no head coaching experience
LSU - previous head coach, mediocre
Texas A&M - proven head coach smaller school
S. Carolina - proven SEC head coach
Oklahoma - coordinator, no head coaching experience
Florida St - coordinator, no head coaching experience
Oregon St - coordinator, no head coaching experience (originally)
Clemson - coordinator, no head coaching experience
Nebraska - coordinator, no head coaching experience
UCLA - previous NFL head coach, mediocre
Michigan - proven head coach smaller school
Northwestern - position coach, no head coaching experience
Louisville - coordinator, no head coaching experience
Texas - proven head coach

So the count of the BCS schools in the current Top 25 BCS standings...
12 - coordinator, no head coaching experience
3 - proven head coach smaller school
2 - proven SEC head coach
1 - previous NFL head coach, mediocre
1 - previous head coach, mediocre
1 - proven head coach

So is your argument, hiring a cordinator is a bad thing?

Les Miles was 16-16 in the Big12. So spare me this high and mighty talk like you poached a proven winner from some other conference.

Saban only had 2 years out of 6 where he won more than 6 games before stepping foot in BR. And your coach before Saban was 9-22 in the SEC.

Before Saban, out of Alabama's last 3 coaches, only ONE had previous HC experience. And he was sitting at a 38% all time win percentage.

How do you feel about keeping a coach who LSU fans wanted to run off a few years back for his daft decisions?

Arnsparger WAS the DC at Miami when he was hired by LSU. His only HC experience was with the Giants, where he was horrible and didn't even finish the season. In fact, he was the Giants coach, who decided to run a play instead of kneeling at the end of a game, thus the Eagles' " Miracle in the Meadowlands" fumble return for a TD by Herm Edwards.

Some of our fans think we can hire anybody we want. Im sure Ark and Ut felt the same way too. The fact is, its not as easy as some think. LSU had a horrible track record of hiring coaches. Saban wasnt even seen as a good hire when it first happened, neither did miles. They both worked out, not always going to go that way. Malzhan may end up being the best hire auburns ever made, or he may keep aub as a bottom feeder in the west.
