1.45 % for medicare. Total of 7.65 for employee, and 7.65 for company = 15.3%.

This will not work if the companies are owned by the same entity and are conducting the same type of business, such as a restaurant or retail chain. The breakout companies will be counted as one entity for the purposes of employee count for AHCA. They've closed that loophole before it even came out the gate. However, if there are different divisions of a company doing unrelated activities you may have an argument for the breakouts standing on their own.

It is simple to close that type of loophole, if it actually exists. Simply look to see if common management/administration activities exist or other benefits are shared by the separate activities, such as 401(k) or profit sharing plans. If they are then the activities get aggregated for Obamacare purposes too. Employers would have a headache setting up multiple HR and payroll departments and separate 401(k) plans for the separate activities that would deprive them the expected savings of circumventing Obamacare.

Everybody's forgetting the point. Obamacare is not intended to provide healthcare. It is intended to destroy the private insurance/healthcare industries and replace it with SinglePayer. Geesh!

Certainly appears to be the end game

I assume the anon companies mentioned here are Wal-Mart and UPS, cutting from 32 hours and no benefits, to 28 hours and no benefits?

Who didn't see this coming? How can Obama put this into law without thinking of things like this? If government gets heavily involved in business, and mandates every company pays health insurance for employees working more than 40/week....of course they'll cut back on hours. It's common sense. It's very scary that our leaders have such little common sense.
