At 16 that would be half the league making the playoffs. That is absurd. No doubt you would get teams that are below .500 getting in.

the guy is just trying too hard to fix something that isn't broken.
I haven't really gotten into the Thursday night football thing myself. I still watch it though, I love football. Its just the allure isn't as great as it is on a Sunday or a Monday night IMO.
He really does suck though.. at being the commish, at life, etc.

so the guy wants an 18 game schedule with a longer playoff and having a thursday night game every week. PLAYER SAFETY NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.

With another decade of Goodell as commissioner, the football season will last 8 months with games 6 days a week.

Why don't the owners fire this fricker? Sure these guys will make more money with more games, and more playoff teams, but the only way the players can survive an 18 games schedule + playoffs is if the league bans tackling.

I know the owners care about profits A number 1.
But right below that, they care about image.
I don't know how much longer they're gonna wanna stick with a commish who brings in so much bad PR.
The last year has been a nightmare for the NFL for bad press.

Wow Jeff, something I actually agree with you on.
The NBA playoffs suck because theres too many teams. It cheapens the importance of the regular season.
Remember how pissed everyone was when Seattle won their division with a losing record? Imagine having wildcard games played between two teams with losing records.
