I think they totally earned it. However, I am worried about it's potential corrosive effect on motivation.
Let's take guy who has an actual problem: a bad back. When it goes out he is basically paralyzed, the rest of the time there is constant dull pain.
If he is on 80% disability, he has little motivation to find job. Or to work to keep it if he gets one. He can always fall back on disability. At some points he figures "what the heck, I should go 100%."
Disability payments have just removed the motivation for someone who could have been a produtive contributor to society (even if not 100% of the time).
That said, it would be a crime to NOT support someone who injured themself while serving their county. I really don't have a solution; just a cautionary tale that even the BEST intentioned, most deserved government programs can and will go wrong.

Link to where there are fees and how much you get paid please. I know the IRS gives you 20% or something on recoveries over 2 million but I don't know how much you get, if any, for reporting fraudulent doctors.

in some cases, like in SSD cases or law suits (car wreck for ex.) where there is a lawyer involved and the patient goes to the doctor the lawyer recommends, then yes they are in on a scam. In most cases I think it is just that the doctor has connected in some way with the patient and just wants to help him out, not really looking at it like a scam.
