There is no such thing as a 'young' Libertarian. It takes thought, debate, and study to become Libertarian. That's why there are no teenagers or women at the Libertarian Convention.
Edit: Just found this on Rand Paul. I agree with him. Just vote 'present'

Though Obama is as terrible on many key social issues as the Republicans, he at least plays to the socially liberal tendencies of young libertarians.
This again shows that most people value social liberty over economic liberty...I'm not here to argue that they are essentially related or that economic liberty precedes social liberty....The point is, and I have argued this in a number of threads, is that in order to get people to the party (whichever party that ultimately will be) of fiscal conservatism/freedom, it will have to drop old outdated planks regarding abortion and homosexuality...ending the fruitless drug war would help, too.

This, and personally I value social liberty over economic liberty. I make a good living, and don't want for any material goods. If I were to lose my job, I would find one rapidly or start a business. more economic liberty doesn't benefit me much.
Now more social liberty? I see the immediate benefits right there. Being able to smoke pot, seeing my gay friends get married, or making sure that young women can get me abortion offer me much more personal utility than tax rates going down or going up slightly.

Couldn't agree more. I know a lot of young people who call themselves Libertarian. Unfortunately many refuse to vote. Which appears to be a self defeating prophecy.
